Taken is an edgy, fast-paced, dark romance and is the first book in The Dark Necessities trilogy. Molly and Connor’s story continues in Tamed, and concludes in Entwined.

Here is a taste of Taken:

“What are you?” he demanded again. “Why are you kept leashed and why do you drink from a bowl?”

Molly gulped, her face blanching as his meaning became clearer. Connor’s hand had stopped spanking her since its contact with her wet seam, and as he waited for her reply, his digits were tantalizingly close to her pussy. His gaze never left her though, and all the while, his stare penetrated her face as he pushed her to admit her new-found status.

“I’m your pet, Sir,” she mumbled at length, and as she admitted the words out loud, her voice broke with her humiliation.

“Tell me again,” he insisted, and this time he allowed just one finger to brush against her labia.

She gasped, but her body shuddered, and her hips began to move again, as though they were acting on some type of reflex. “I’m your pet, Sir,” she conceded, her voice louder this time.

Connor rewarded her with one finger, which he slipped effortlessly into her tight channel. Molly moaned gratefully in response, her eyes still blinking away tears as she made eye contact with her captor.

“Do you understand who’s in charge now?” he questioned her, pressing his advantage.

Her head nodded against the bedding beside him as a second digit joined his first inside her pussy. “Yes, yes, Sir,” she gasped as he began to ease out, and then back inside her. Her cheeks had a blazing red hue by now, and he knew the spanking must have hurt, but unbelievably, his pet was wetter than ever. It seemed to Connor that she was caught somewhere between agony and ecstasy.

“Who?” he growled, fingering her slowly as he assessed her responses.

She panted as she replied, her legs splayed naturally to accommodate his intrusion. “You, Sir,” she whispered. “You are in charge.”

Branwyn’s Love #erotic #courtesan

Hi all,

Life has been crazy around my place so I’ve been quiet on here. I just had an issue come up and it is about grammar in creative writing.

Sometimes, great authors write:

Tom, I wouldn’t ever got into all this trouble if it hadn’t ‘a’ ben for that money; now you just take my sheer of it along with your’n, and gimme a ten-center sometimes — not many times, becuz I don’t give a dern for a thing ‘thout it’s tollable hard to git — and you go and beg off for me with the widder.” (35.9) Adventures of Tom Sawyer -Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain…https://www.shmoop.com/tom-sawyer/huckleberry-finn-quotes.html .

I agree. This example is extreme, but no one would complain about the grammar because it is the flavor of the story line and character. But in today’s work, that seems to be unacceptable. When did we get so intolerant of HOW a person pens their creative writing, lost in the mechanics than the words that tell the story?

So, if you are one of those who find grammar the most important thing in a book, then I suggest you stay away from most mainstream romances because there will be errors and inconsistencies, but they will be small or deliberate. There will be incomplete sentences or extra commas but they are there to advance the story, enhance the picture or the character voice.

The very few grammar goofs you find that are just mistakes, well…we are human, after all.

NOW! Look at this. Something HOT and SPICY!

Branwyn’s Love

Branwyn's Love-DD Cover_BL

The tale of a young woman sold as a courtesan in training. Branwyn arrives in a new land to begin daily lessons in the bewildering art of bedding a man.

The noblewoman chosen to be Prince Malacke’s bride rejects him by bedding his hated rival. Malacke turns his anger towards increasing the power and wealth of Black Dorn castle. And he succeeds until his attention is captured by the face of the woman who will be his queen.

Note: This book contains elements of domination, submission, and fetishes. If these concepts disturb you, please do not purchase or read this book. Branwyn’s Love was formerly known as Black Dorn and published by New Dawning.

Want a small bite?

“Stop that crying or by all that is powerful, I will beat you.”

“Do not yell so. You will frighten the poor child.”

Through tears, Branwyn stared at her uncle and aunt. “I… I do not understand. Why must I go?”

Her aunt sat next to her. “It is your time, child. A husband has been chosen. You must leave us to join with him.”

“About time it is!” Her uncle’s face grew redder with each word. “One year shy of a score she is, and still unwed. She must fall to her knees to thank God someone wishes to marry such an old spinster.”

Branwyn slapped the arm of her chair. “I decline. It is my right. I shall not marry this man!”

“How many men do you think you can refuse?” Her uncle paced about the small room. “This is the fourth suitor to ask for your hand. You cannot. It is done. Your things are being loaded as we speak.” He jerked back a curtain in the window and pointed.

The door opened and in stepped a tall broad-shouldered soldier. “The carriage awaits.”

“Branwyn.” Aunt Selda patted her hand. “You have no dowry. This is a good match. He is a rich man. He will give you babies.”

Suspicion gnawed at Branwyn’s stomach. “And what did he give you?”

“Gold.” Uncle Egbert picked up his purse and dropped it, with a rattle, back onto the table.

She can’t follow if you won’t lead

My friend, PK Corey, has a new book out for all who love to read about loving domestic discipline:

Returning to Us

by

PK Corey

Returning to Us - PK cover

What’s it all about?

After thirty-five years, Susan thought her marriage was over the morning after their last child’s wedding. Hal, her husband, said he needed to talk about something important. She knew it couldn’t be good. They rarely even spoke anymore. In the beginning they’d been so close, so passionate. Practicing domestic discipline had been a wonderful part of their lives—sometimes.

But over the years it had all drifted away, even when Susan asked for what she needed. He would occasionally give her a mild, sexy spanking, but the real discipline she craved was a thing of the past. Now, Hal suddenly wanted to talk about moving to Colorado to live in Corbin’s Bend, a community where spanking was not only accepted, but encouraged. Could this bring back the closeness and passion they’d once had? Could Susan trust that this time Hal would truly step up?

Mmm, this bite is delish… Taste!

Quincy waited until they both had a mug of coffee, then she sat at the table. She seemed to be waiting for Susan to speak. Finally, Susan said, “How have you been, Quincy?”

“I’m fine,” she stated. “However, it seems you’ve gone underground. I never see you out anymore. You’ve been here a while now. How are things going with you?”

“Fine with me too. I’m busy and haven’t been getting out as much, but everything’s fine,” Susan insisted.

Quincy didn’t look convinced, she looked concerned. Susan felt the urge to run. If Quincy said something kind or sweet, she would break down. She could feel the slight burning in her eyes, warning of tears.

No! she told herself fiercely. She sipped her coffee and forced a smile to her face.
Her mentor wasn’t having it. “Please tell me what’s bothering you. Maybe I can help.”

“Nothing’s wrong. Hal’s very happy. He’s…”

“I didn’t ask about Hal. I asked about you.”

It wasn’t going to work. She wasn’t going to be able to hold the tears back.

“Hal is happy. Corbin’s Bend is wonderful. It’s full of spankos, fun for all. It’s fucking awesome!” Susan concluded, bursting into tears.

Quincy said nothing. She reached for a box of tissues and placed it on the table and let Susan cry.

Finally, Susan spoke again. “I wish we’d never come here. I thought he’d stick to it with all these spanking role models. But it’s just the same, except now everyone else has what I want. It’s worse than being alone with my needs.”

“Has Hal stopped spanking you?”

“Oh no, he spanks me every time he wants sex.”

Quincy said nothing, letting the words hang in the air.

“You know the outside world would view us all as odd balls, Quincy. And now I feel like the odd ball within the group. Most women here would love what I have. I only get spanked for fun or for sex. Who wouldn’t love that?” Susan snapped.

“You,” Quincy answered.

About PK Corey

After spending thirty-six years in two careers I liked just fine, I’ve finally found my dream career as a writer. I’ve been happily married for thirty-five-years and my sweet husband has gotten used to the unique experience of living with a writer. He is very encouraging and an excellent editor when he’s pressed into service.

I’ve been intrigued by spanking stories since before I first saw Ricky spank Lucy. Stories of this nature were hard to come by before the Internet and the ones I found were a little harsh on discipline and very much lacking in love. So, I made up my own stories and enjoyed these in my head for years. I finally began writing them down. Although the lovely women in my stories are spanked often, the love between them and their men takes top priority.

My Cassie’s Space series shows a mature couple who are deeply in love. Despite loving Cassie’s free-spirited ways, Tom is determined to keep her safe, even if it takes a trip over his knee. And with her friend Sue by her side and all they get into, a trip over his knee is very likely. My new series, Cal’s Law, is about a younger couple. Though they come from very different backgrounds, love and discipline draw them together.

I love my husband, my kids, my cats, reading, writing and hearing from my readers. You can contact me at pk.corey@yahoo.com

HER CELTIC MASTERS

Ashe Barker

Her Celtic Masters - AB Promo 1

Left penniless and without a home by a sudden, tragic turn of events, twenty-year-old Kristin Lofnsdottir plans to start a new life as a seafaring trader. If she is going to have any chance at surviving, however, let alone succeeding, she’ll need money and capable men to protect her. A partnership with a pair of Celts offers both, but Kristin quickly realizes that the arrangement will mean sharing much more than just her profits. The two stern, handsome brothers intend to make her theirs, demanding obedience, punishing defiance, and mastering her beautiful body together.

Though Nyle and Bowdyn have been given plenty of reason to hate Vikings over the years, conquering the feisty, headstrong Kristin proves even more satisfying than they had anticipated. As they claim her ever more thoroughly and shamefully, her need for them only grows more intense, but can they be firm enough to tame her recklessness before it puts them all in danger?

Publisher’s Note: Her Celtic Masters is a stand-alone sequel to Conquered by the Viking. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Would you like a little taste?  R

“You should not come in,” she whispered when they arrived there. “Someone might see…”

Bowdyn shrugged. “Would you prefer we fuck you out here? I am quite convinced we would attract much more attention were we to try that approach.”

“Do not be ridiculous,” she hissed.

“Kristin is right. It is much too cold to contemplate such a notion.” Nyle reached around her to open the door. “Come, we shall build a fire and make ourselves comfortable within.”

Kristin stood in the middle of her home, her hands on her hips and her irritation rising almost as quickly as her apprehension. She watched as the Celts set about the homey tasks of tending to the fire, lighting lamps and helping themselves to her—well, Merewyn’s—mead. Once matters were arranged to their apparent satisfaction, Nyle sat astride the bench she had set closest to the fire pit and beckoned her to approach. Uncertain what else she might do, Kristin obeyed.

He tilted his head to one side and gazed up at her. “You appear somewhat confused, Kristin. And perhaps even a little scared.”

“I am not afraid of you,” she retorted.

“Good. That is as it should be.”

“I am just…” She paused, drew in a breath, “I am not sure what you want me to do. This is all so… so strange to me. I do not know what you expect.”

“We expect you to obey us.” This from Bowdyn, who had approached to stand behind her. “Did we not mention this yesterday?”

“Yes. No… I am not quite sure…”

“Your memory is not usually so unreliable. A spanking will help with that.”

Kristin did not agree but chose instead to take issue with his suggestion that her recollection of events was flawed. “I do remember. I remember that you described me as strong-willed and obstinate.”

“Yes, and those are fine qualities for one engaged in trade. They are less needful in a woman who seeks to please her men.”

“But how? How can I please you? I have no idea what to do.”

“You were wed, were you not? A recent widow when first we met.”

“I do not think my husband shared my bed on more than a half dozen occasions, and even then, he was never…”

Bowdyn cupped her face between both his palms and ceased her halting explanation with a kiss. Just as he had the previous evening, he silenced her with his lips and Kristin melted in his arms.

His tongue probed her mouth as before, the intimacy causing her to clench even more. Bowdyn broke the kiss and nuzzled the end of his nose against hers. “We will tell you what you should do, and you will do it. Yes?”

“Yes,” she breathed. “Yes, please.”

Bowdyn stepped a pace back and folded his arms. His handsome features took on a sternness she was beginning to recognise. “I intend to spank you. Nyle will watch, and you may rely on him to ensure you remain still and as quiet as possible while you are punished. Then, when you are ready to accept instruction with rather less in the way of argument, we shall proceed to more pleasant pursuits. You will suck my cock, and at the same time Nyle will fuck you.”

She could only gape at him. Kristin had no problem in comprehending his words, but the acts he described were quite beyond her limited experience.

“I believe you have shocked our little Viking, brother. You must learn to be more delicate.” Nyle rose from the bench to trail the backs of his fingers down Kristin’s cheek. “But even so, you should now gather your wits and obey, little one. You may start by removing your clothes.”

More about Ashe Barker

USA Today best-selling author Ashe Barker has been an avid reader of fiction for many years, erotic and other genres. She still loves reading, the hotter the better. But now she has a good excuse for her guilty pleasure – research.

Ashe tends to draw on her own experience to lend colour, detail and realism to her plots and characters. An incident here, a chance remark there, a bizarre event or quirky character, any of these can spark a story idea.

Ashe lives in the North of England, on the edge of the Brontë moors and enjoys the occasional flirtation with pole dancing and drinking Earl Grey tea. When not writing – which is not very often these days – her time is divided between her role as taxi driver for her teenage daughter, and caring for a menagerie of dogs, tortoises.  And a very grumpy cockatiel.

At the last count Ashe had over forty titles on general release with publishers on both sides of the Atlantic, and several more in the pipeline. She writes M/f, M/M, and occasionally rings the changes with a little M/M/f. Ashe’s books invariably feature BDSM. She writes explicit stories, always hot, but offering far more than just sizzling sex. Ashe likes to read about complex characters, and to lose herself in compelling plots, so that’s what she writes too.

Ashe has a pile of story ideas still to work through, and keeps thinking of new ones at the most unlikely moments, so you can expect to see a lot more from her.

Jade (A Dark Assassins Novel)

My guest today is:

Valerie Ullmer

the author of

Jade (A Dark Assassins Novel book 4)

Jade

jade-vu (a dark assassins novel book four) cover 500(A Dark Assassins Novel Book Four)

This fourth book in the series is another Paranormal Erotic Romance. A little dark fantasy to curl up with on a cold winter night!

Lets get a sneak peak at what this book is all about:

Jade never wanted a mate.  She loved being an assassin and she had a family in her fellow assassins, their mates, and little Silas.  She truly had everything she needed.  But when Ghost assigned her to track the same immortals who tried to kill Xander’s family, she couldn’t refuse.

But the complication arises when Ghost requests she partner with Noah, a human and ex-special forces soldier.  Jade has never worked with a human before, much less one that hated her from the moment he laid eyes on her.  But she was a professional and if she could play a part in destroying the immortals who threatened her family, she could accept the human.  If only she knew how to fight her attraction to him.

All Noah Hale wanted was to kill the immortals who lured his best friend and fellow ex-Navy SEAL to his death.  He had no desire to be teamed with a beautiful tracker who mesmerized him the moment she turned her emerald eyes his way.  But in order to stop other soldiers from pursuing the same fate, he needed to swallow his pride and work with a group of immortals he didn’t trust.

As Jade and Noah track the group of shifters through the mountains of Colorado, the danger lurking around every corner threatens everything they both hold close.  Will they be able to find a way through, together?

LETS CRAWL IN FOR A GLIMPSE OF JADE:

Jade caught a scent of a human as she entered the fourteen-story building in downtown Snowfall.  It wasn’t just any human scent, but something that made all of her instincts flare.  She knew that she’d never caught this particular scent before, but something told her that this human might be important to her.  She tried to brush it off as quickly as the thought came, but she couldn’t find it coincidental she smelled it in the same steel building owned by Ghost and housed the headquarters of Dark Company.

As she dismissed the fleeting thought of searching for the scent, her heart thumped once, hard, in her chest at the thought of not finding its owner.  She forced herself to walk toward the elevator bank, ignoring the unwanted perusals she received from the men in the lobby.  Even in an unassuming hoodie and black yoga pants, she drew unwanted attention.  A side effect of being an immortal.

The elevator opened as soon as she pressed the up-button and she kept her gaze down as she walked into the elevator.  She entered the code to get to Ghost’s private floor, her movements too quick to be caught by the human eye, before she squeezed into the corner.  Jade used her other senses as three men in suits and two women entered the enclosed space with her.  There was no need to glance at the glass interior that covered the back wall to see what she looked like.

She sensed eyes on her.  Instead of searching out the gaze, she whipped her long, straight dyed black hair into a bun on the back of her head with quick movements before sneaking her hands into the front pockets of her hoodie.

Jade waited patiently as the car traveled toward the penthouse, her ultimate destination, but she couldn’t help but try to find the intriguing scent from earlier.

After my meeting.

All she knew was he hadn’t used the particular elevator she was in and the higher the lift took her in the building, the more his scent dissipated.

In her entire existence, or what she remembered of it, she’d never been attracted to…anyone.  She’d never felt the pull to find someone either.  But lately, she’d felt increasingly restless whenever she had any downtime and her skin tingled in a way that had nothing to do with signaling immediate danger.  It was as though her body tried to convey something she didn’t understand.

Her thoughts were interrupted when a man who had gotten into the elevator with her on the first floor stepped into her personal space.

“Hey, beautiful?”

Jade rolled her eyes and raised her head to glare at the man.  Of course, he wouldn’t take the hint that she wanted to be left alone.  To emphasize the point, she crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, moving away from his intrusion.

The man decided to take this as an invitation and moved to wrap his arm around her waist.  The move gave her a clear shot to his ribs and she took it, gently moving her elbow back and making contact.  She flinched when she heard a distinctive crack, realizing she hadn’t been careful enough.  Before she could apologize, the elevator door opened and he ran off without looking back, holding onto his side.

She sighed.

January thoughts…

This blog is about books. HA HA. Okay, so no surprise there. I have had a love affair with books for as long as I can remember. I read early, encouraged by my book loving mother. I found that there was a whole world to be found, many worlds in fact, between the pages of a book. Now we have electronic books, and audio books, and I love a good story no matter how it is presented, but I will always have a soft spot for picking up a physical book and reading it.

As I sit here, in my pajama’s (don’t hate me), contemplating a new year, I think of the books I have written and those I have read. I have learned that writing even one book is not an easy feat, no matter how easy it might seem. I appreciate the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into every book more than ever. And it makes me love them even more intensely. I write romance but I read all genres. Well, nearly all. Sorry, horror is just not my thing…  but so many others are.

So, let me challenge you to try a new book, a new genre, a new author, today. You never know, you could be embarking on the most rewarding adventure of your life. Come back and tell me about your adventure, no matter how it turned out.

So let me start you off, my fellow romance lovers… I’ll try to continue sending you on forages into my chaotic mind.
