We purchased ice from the caravan park shop and put all our perishable food in the large cooler. By now it was after five o’clock, so Hayden cooked up the chops at one of the caravan park barbecues and I buttered some rolls and tossed together a salad. I was glad of the antics of the cockatoos as we ate at the picnic table outside our caravan. Hayden was still annoyed and clearly longing to spank me. And, while I knew I deserved it, I was dreading being spanked. Especially given that the caravan park, while certainly not crowded, was definitely not empty either. A couple of caravans and tents were close enough that their occupants would be able to hear me being spanked.

“Hayden,” I said when we did the washing up. “You can’t really…you know…”

“Spank you?” His voice was grim. “I can and I will.”

 “Someone could hear,” I said.

“Well, it’s embarrassing,” I said. “And also, someone could call the cops.”

He chuckled. “Actually, I had no intention of spanking you here. I don’t want some hero deciding you need rescuing. I have an alternative venue in mind where no one will hear you and we won’t be disturbed.” He put the final plate back in the cupboard. “Okay, we’ve a couple of hours till dusk. We can sit outside and play cards for a while.”

Play cards? While I waited to be spanked? What planet did he live on?

Still, I wasn’t going to argue. It was impossible to concentrate, though. I lost every round. When it started to get dark, he put the cards back in their box and said, “Time to go. Make sure you bring your hairbrush and your phone.”

  “My phone?”

“We don’t have an egg timer,” he reminded me. “So we’ll set the timer on your phone for your spanking.”

Reluctantly, I put my hairbrush and phone in my bag. I wondered how many minutes he’d spank me for. In the old days, it had been excruciating writhing over his knee being tanned with the hairbrush and waiting for that wretched egg timer to finally go off. I wasn’t looking forward to getting reacquainted with the experience.

Hayden drove out of the caravan park and turned in the opposite direction to Halls Gap. Driving slowly, to avoid hitting kangaroos, he made his way into part of the national park. There was no one around. He drove until he found a picnic spot, empty apart from a mob of kangaroos. “We’ll use that bench,” he said, nodding towards it. “Go over there and wait for me.”

The Wilder the Better

Dulcie Taylor just knocked on my door and brought me her new book:

Release: May 19, 2016

I started writing this book many years ago. In fact, long before I had ever considered publishing.  Writing, at that time, was something I did for me, and while it still is, there is an indescribable joy that comes from sharing it with others.

It was a start and stop process as my life was busy with two little ones, a part-time job and a husband that did a lot of overtime.  Imagine me, a baby on my hip, pushing a three-wheeled lawn mower (one wheel fell off, and my husband had no time to fix it) making pathways in the grass for my toddler to follow. J All wonderful, but busy years and Reckless Intent was left to collect proverbial dust. It was only recently, since joining Blushing Books that I decided to dust it off and finish Mylie and Kevin’s story once and for all.

It came to me all those  years ago simply as a scene where Mylie Blake learns a secret that turns her life upside down (no spoilers here). From there, the very HOT Kevin Sheldon was developed and as I’m a big fan of broken characters, he isn’t as typically together as some heroes are.  Mylie and Kevin take the journey to self-discovery and growth together.

Reckless Intent has been a long time coming, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.

Dulcie Taylor

After years of complacency, a shocking secret yanks Mylie Blake out of her bland existence. Leaving everything behind, she decides to remake herself—the wilder the better.  Her first crazy stunt involves too much alcohol, zero sense and lands her in the hands of the only man she’s ever loved—a man now infamous for his hot temper and bad-boy ways. With nowhere to go and little money to get there, Mylie just might be at the mercy of the devil himself.

Kevin Sheldon, a former professional hockey player, known for his anger issues, on and off the ice, is just trying to get through the mess his life has become, but when his first love shows up wild and intent on ruining herself, he can’t help himself.  He’s the last person on the planet with a hero complex, and has own crosses to bear, but Mylie has a hold on him that he’s never been able to shake.  And the more he tries to help her, the messier his life becomes.

With their pasts hot on their heels, they must run.  Can they face their demons together and accept they’re meant to be or will they run from each other too?

So check out this great new book. Dulcie’s books are fresh and contemporary. If you need a break from Dark but still need a little spanking in your read, come on down!

HERE is a taste of what you will get.

“Take a look, Kevin! Do I look like a child in need of minding to you?”

She spun to leave him in his spot, but his arm flew out to catch her elbow. He pulled her into his chest. His eyes were molten and seemed to flicker both desire and irritation simultaneously. Her skin tingled with the heat of his, and her middle ached. He pushed her back, looked her up and down, and nodded.

“In a perverted sort of way, yeah.” He half smiled.

She looked down at herself in schoolgirl garb and groaned. “You know what I meant, you ass!”

“Now, now, honey, you’d better watch that mouth of yours. Remember, you’re afraid of me.” His brow tightened in a threatening way, but amusement still shone in her eyes.

She ripped her arm from his hand but didn’t move. His breath was minty hot on her face.

“Your wife is a liar, but even if she weren’t, I wouldn’t care. Right now, I can’t think of anything more amusing than pushing your buttons.” She smiled as Kevin’s right eyebrow arched. He grabbed both her shoulders and crushed her against him.

“Really?” Something flickered in his eyes. The corners of his mouth tightened. Her stomach dipped. “And I can’t imagine anything more satisfying than pulling you over my knee.”

“Ha, recently both your attempts were pathetic. One I can’t remember, and the other was well…” She rolled her eyes. “Boring.”

“Oh?” He released her with one hand and rubbed his chin. “Perhaps I’m out of practice.”

“I’m sure your wife didn’t think so.”

“I never liked my wife enough to spank her, Mylie.”

“Last I checked, you don’t like me much anymore, either.” For a moment, her heart sank.

“You’re growing on me.” He held her chin between his thumb and forefinger gently. “Besides, you need a spanking more than anyone ever has, right now.”

Her gut swirled, and her bottom tingled. She was crazy hot and had to use all her restraint to stop herself from jumping up and wrapping her legs around his waist. Feverish thoughts of crushing his mouth with hers licked like flames in her mind. She narrowed her eyes at him, pulling herself from his grip. She folded her arms across her chest and cocked her head.

“Your bank account can’t handle another abuse allegation.” She bit her bottom lip, hoping she looked, at least, a little bit sexy.

“What I’m going to do to you will be worth every penny I have.” He turned and walked to the door, taking all the air in the room with him. When he was just about out the door, he pulled on his shirt and turned back. “And, darlin’, when I’m through with you, you’ll be too busy rubbing your sizzling backside and sobbing to worry about legalities. Only right now, I need to cool off.”

About the Author:

I started creating stories as soon as I could write and even as a young aspiring novelist found that my heroes were frequently loving but dominant men that kept their feisty ladies in line. What luck that I found fans that enjoy reading about those sassy characters as much as I enjoy writing about them!

I live in a small Canadian town with my husband, two daughters, and the many characters that play in my head while I go about my day. It’s not unusual to spot me at the market with a faraway look and a smirk as one of those characters has most certainly gotten herself in a pickle!

When I’m not writing or working one of my two ‘day’ jobs, I love taking my 80lbs labradoodle for long walks along the river, lazing in my hammock snuggled up with my girls, the dog, or just my Kindle. Or in colder winter months, skiing, skating, or more often, hibernating.

It was just a little peek…

Her life was changed forever…

Why did she ever peek in through that missing chinking…

Now presenting a standalone book that I have struggled with to get like I wanted. It is a full size novel. Out for ARC readers today so I will share the cover for the rest of you. 1870, North Texas Cattle Country but really, not about cattle. About…

taming texanna ARC announce

Taming Texanna by Alyssa Bailey

Texanna Rae Grant, at nineteen, was not happy even though she knew men lusted after her. She was not marriage material. Her mother had left her when she was a child, her brother as a teen and now her father wanted to be rid of her. She didn’t know why she was so unlovable but she obviously was. That is why, when her best friend Mandy said her cousin, the marshal, had eyes for her, Texanna rolled hers. He wouldn’t be interested in her and even if he were, he wouldn’t stay. No one ever did.

Half-breed Marshal Colton McFadden was known all over the West for his uncanny inner sense and tracking abilities. Many of the unattached women of the quickly growing township took an interest in him but he only had eyes for one woman, Texanna Grant. Colton’s inner vision seemed to see into her very soul that was innocent but troubled. However, he was not under any illusions that a father would allow him to court his daughter due to his mixed blood, marshal or not.

Then a hole in a storeroom chinking on laundry day, trousers, men’s undergarments, a little coercion, and a spanking changed everything. Now Mr. Grant insists on a marriage, Texanna is on the run, and Colton needs to bring order back to his house and his life. First thing’s first, however. He needs to track down, marry, and take home his woman. Then he can start Taming Texanna.

My Anniversary is Today!

My anniversary is today and I thought I would just say thank you to my wonderful husband. We have completed our 37th year of marriage and I am not easy to live with.

An author friend asked a question about traits to the group and I thought it was a good time to weigh in on my idea of qualities. these are in no specific order and obviously only really apply to us and our marriage.

Thursday the 12th. tomorrow is my 37th anniversary so I have a few ideas on what has worked for us. (not saying it is for everyone).

With these general rules we have had and raised 5 children, adopted and predominately raised 6 more, fostered over 220 kids, lived together-married for 37 years:

1. He was my friend before my lover/husband.

2. It is okay to look (at a nice looking girl or guy) but never okay to touch.

3. If there is a problem, be willing to share it and work together to solve it.

4. Just because we think differently doesn’t mean we don’t each understand the problem. Listen to the other partner. Take their advice if you can. Don’t always try to fix the problem, listening is often all we need.

5. Shoot for the same goals and share your dreams.

6. Be kind.

7. Be together on the kids. His, yours, shared.

8. Love unconditionally and once earned, trust each other unconditionally.

9. Practice respect and compliment each other, let them know you are proud of who they are and are becoming.

10. Have fun. Jokes have their place and life isn’t all serious.

11. Have sex as often as you can and if he wants to rule the bedroom, you are a lucky woman. And if he spanks, all the better.

12. Nothing is wrong if it is safe, sane, consensual and private from the kids. Meaning, we are openly demonstrative but do not demonstrate our kinks openly.

13. Say I’m Sorry as often as needed.

14. Take time to be alone and time to be alone together. Go on dates. Vacations, weekends, overnights occasionally- alone together.

I am sure there are others but this is enough.

To  my life partner, my husband, my lover, my all

I love you, with all that I was, all that I am and all that I hope to be.

You complete my sentences, start my day and end my nights.

There is no one more perfect for me then you.
